2016 Year in Review

1/20/2017 - As we look all ahead to 2017, we think it is helpful to look back and see where we were. 2016 was a year that every Satuit employee can be proud of.

Hiring:  We added several key positions on our management team.   John Bullinger, who was previously head of our IT team moved into a newly created role of Chief Security Officer.  John saw us successfully through the SOC 2 security audit process and is now focusing 100% of his time on assuring that your data is safe.    Jason Kataerle was brought in to take over John’s responsibilities as leader of IT.  Jason’s key responsibility is to assure that our production environment is always running and that performance benchmarks are met.   We also hired Mike Kendal of SS&C Varden to assume a new role as SVP of Strategic Relationships.   Mike is in charge of key client and vendor/partner relationships.

itsecurityIT Infrastructure
:  Our IT team completed an 18 month project to upgrade the IT and security infrastructure for our hosting center and move over 400 client sites to a new center in Canada.  The team’s work was seamless and they were able to move the sites without impacting clients’ ability to use SatuitCRM® during the transition.

Diversity:  Our Administrative team successfully completed the lengthy application process for certification as a minority and woman owned enterprise.  Satuit Technologies is now the only certified WBE software firm on the buy-side fintech space.  The certification is a benefit to Satuit clients who operate in the public pension fund sector.  The certification process began as a result of a request from a SatuitCRM client serving the public fund market.  There are also over 650 private corporate sponsors of WBENC.  We are proud of our commitment to diversity and pleased that our certification is also a benefit to our clients.

buy-side-crmAwards:  SatuitCRM was selected as the Best Buy Side CRM by Waters Technology. Their annual awards recognize the top-of-class accomplishment and innovation of products and services designed specifically for buy-side investment professionals.  This is the second time Satuit has received the award.

simple-crmProduct:    Thanks to our outstanding Development team (still on-shore when all of our competition has been outsourcing), we continue to release four upgrades per year.   The SatuitCRM User Interface was substantially overhauled, many new features and integration plug-ins were added, including seamless integration with some of the industry’s most popular e-marketing tools.   We also overhauled the client view on our investor portal so that our clients’ clients can easily view and download their key investor data on any device.

client-growthNew Client Growth:  Our client growth was slightly above 10% for the year.   At a time of tightening budgets and intense competition, it is gratifying to see that we continue to win new clients while maintaining strong retention.  Over 45% of our “conversions” (from other CRM software) were from clients who were previously using the big giants of the CRM space (we won’t name names!).

Corporate Citizenship:  Last year Satuit was active in supporting a number of key charities, all of them impacting children in need.  For over ten years, Satuit has been one of the largest regional sponsors of Toys for Tots.  Our fundraiser and toy shopping is one of the highlights of the holiday season, when our entire conference room fills to overflow with toys.   This year we also were a corporate sponsor for the Florida Make a Wish Foundation, Toys for Tots and Cradles to Crayons.

:  In December 2016 we completed the paperwork to become a Florida Corporation.  On January 1, 2017, the Satuit MA Corporation was merged into the Florida Corporation.  We will continue to operate key facilities in MA, but we will also be expanding in Florida where there is significant growth in the wealth management sector.
