Peter has spent the past three decades working with family and an entrepreneur owned business. He was a founding partner of the private equity firm, Heritage Partners, and helped lead the organization from its inception in 1994 until 2009. He was instrumental in growing Heritage from $150 million in assets under management to nearly $1.5 billion.
At Heritage, Peter was the Senior Partner and Board Director for numerous portfolio companies including: AmerTac Holdings, Cecilware Corporation, Castle Rock Industries, WA Butler Co. and Bennett Footwear Group. In that role, he was responsible for leading the investment team through the acquisition process, managing the value enhancement effort post-acquisition, and executing exit strategies. In addition, Peter had oversight responsibility for Heritage Partners’ transaction origination effort and led it to become an industry leader in both innovation and investment generation. As a co-creator of Heritage Partners’ unique equity investment approach, The Private IPO, Peter spearheaded the successful effort to establish national brand awareness, both for Heritage Partners and its signature equity approach.
Prior to Heritage, Peter spent 15 years at the Bank of Boston where he was a co-founder and Director of BancBoston Capital’s private equity effort; Equity Partners. This unit, the first direct equity investment effort for the Bank of Boston, was the predecessor to Heritage.
Peter serves on a number of both for-profit and non-profit boards including Satuit Technologies, The Center for International Conciliation, and RICBAC (a healthcare foundation). Peter has a BA and MA from the University of Sussex, UK, and an MPhil in Management, Finance and Economics from St. Antony’s College, Oxford University.
